Making the perfect pizza is all about the dough” says Alessandro Bollino, chef and owner of That’s Amore.
To have your pizzas authentic, tasty and crispy you need the perfect dough. There is only one recipe for that authenticity and it is the same one they are still using in Naples, South of Italy, since the Queen Margherita wanted to try something different and Pizzaiolo Pasquale, more then hundred years ago made the first Margherita pizza: tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and basil (the Italian colors).

Since that day the pizza became the most popular Italian takeaway around the world that everybody is trying to copy. But Alessandro knows how to make the original one, the Neapolitan Pizza!

He started working at 13 cleaning the kitchen of a famous Pizzeria in Naples, against his will, but his family wanted to keep him away from the street of Naples. Lucky he was that after a couple of months one of the Pizzaioli left and the owner wanted to try him. He started making hundreds of pizza every night and he learned all the secrets of his Maestro Pizzaiolo.

After his study he decided to see the world and he has worked as chef in some of famous Italian and overseas restaurants, then in 2003 he decided to settle down in Auckland. In New Zealand he has worked at “Al Volo” and then on March 2008 he started his own business and here it is with That’s Amore in CBD in the Metropolis Building.

At “That’s Amore” you can choose from 43 different pizzas, from the traditional Margherita to the sophisticated That’s Amore with: Italian sausages, buffalo mozzarella, porcini mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, truffle oil and parmigiano. In the menu there are also 7 different salads, 3 different Gnocchi and the traditional Lasagna.

That’s Amore is a take away or eat in Pizzeria and deliveries are coming soon.
